Gemstone of the week: Aquamarine
Its’s March already! How time flies. This week’s gemstone is Aquamarine: the birthstone of March.
Aquamarine is a gemstone and belongs to the same beryl family as emerald. Aquamarine is an affordable gemstone beautiful gemstone comes in varying shades of blue. Transparent, flawless gemstones are highly prized .The deeper the blue the more prized it is. It’s a favourite of jewellery as it can be fashioned into various shapes. Aquamarine is thought to symbolise beauty and loyalty and it’s the anniversary stone for the 16th and 19th wedding anniversary.
Brazil is the largest producer of this gemstone and many of the best stones come from there. It can also be found in various locations such as Zambia, Russia, China, U.SA and…… wait for it NIGERIA!!!! How cool is that!
I’ve not had the chance to work with Aquamarine beads as they are super pricey ( Hopefully The Colour Couture will get the point in the near future!). I spotted this necklace which I absolutely adore. The price wasn’t listed which hints at just how much it cost. It so beautiful.
Shout out to all my many friends and family celebrating birthdays in March, wish you love, beauty and happiness.
