The lovely Adiya Atuluku of The Corner Shop has written a an article about  The Colour Couture titled “A Burst of Colour from the Colour Couture”. When i first stumbled on her blog, I was quite intrigued about the initiative. The Corner shop showcases Nigerian small and medium scale enterprises that exhibit creativity. Here’s what she had to say about us:


The Colour Couture is owned by Marion Sikuade. With just a glimpse of her jewelry, you’ll be enamored by the burst of colour. And please, who doesn’t love colour?! She handcrafts each and every one of them, and very lovingly too 😉 The Colour Couture hosts a lot of jewelry made from gemstones, but it still gives off the sense of our African heritage. Everything, from the boxes to the jewelry inside, is simply lovely.

One of the hottest trend for spring/summer 2011 is Colour, Colour, Colour!!! The rule books have been torn up and burnt in a big bonfire.   This season you can wear a green top, yellow pants, red shoes and  finish the look with a blue hat!!!   I can’t wait for this trend to hit the high street. I might just be able to find myself some purple shoes to wear to my cousin’s wedding.

    Oooh!! Thanks a lot! 😀 So glad you agreed.

    I’m usually not into too much colour in clothes, but i’m starting to include one loud splash in my ensemble. Loud purple shoes sound just about right!
